Stephen's career as a Computer Engineer started in the 1970's. He was a Telecom Software and Systems Engineer for most of his career.  Drawing and painting was a hobby he did in his spare time.  After retiring in 2007, Stephen now spends time with his family and can devote more time to his real passion, drawing.

Stephen started drawing at a young age, inspired by his mother and an uncle, who could both draw cartoon characters from comic books and from the Sunday comics. He studied Art and Mechanical Drawing in High School at Lyndon Institute in Lyndon, Vermont. He also took art and oil painting classes in the evenings. Over the years some of his art projects have been a large oil painting commissioned while in the Navy, he designed a logo for a small Insurance company that is still used today, and has designed ads for various employers. He has done many pencil, oil, and pen & ink drawings for friends and family.

Stephen joined the ARTS Gallery in November of 2010 and now combines his technical knowledge of computers, his love of drawing and drafting techniques to produce Digital Drawings of trucks, tractors, motorcycles and wildlife.  He also still does traditional drawings and paintings from time to time but his new medium is the digital drawing tablet.     His digital drawing tool is the Cintiq 12WX WACOM Digital Tablet and the drawing software is ArtRage 3.0 Pro.
